About BUKSA
BUKSA / Conferences + Associations has spent over 30 years earning a reputation for doing what most event firms can't: combining rigorous project management with genuine stakeholder care, so our clients look good and their audiences feel it. We partner with associations, universities, governments, and corporations across Canada - delivering a large portfolio of events annually on budget, on time, and to a standard our clients describe as "the best we've attended." We're a boutique team with big-agency capability, and we're proudly 100% Canadian and women-owned and operated.
About The Position
The Conference and Events Manager reports to the Director of Conference Services and is accountable for both the leadership and hands-on execution of conferences and events - from project kickoff through to onsite delivery. This is not a delegate-and-oversee role; you are expected to lead your project teams and be in the room (and on the floor) when it counts. You are BUKSA's lead for onsite event delivery, and the standard you're held to is simple: on scope, on budget, and to BUKSA's standard of excellence.
This is a role for someone who brings strong project, client, and event management experience - and knows how to lead with both strategy and execution. Depending on the scope and scale of the project, you may be leading a full project team or managing a smaller event independently. Either way, you bring the same professionalism, attention to detail, and confident, can-do attitude. The events you'll manage span the full range - from golf tournaments and curling bonspiels to webinars, educational conferences, and social and learning events - and you're someone who meets each one with the right approach, not a one-size-fits-all playbook.
This is an in-person position in Edmonton. The role includes regular travel to event sites across Canada.
